Marion Ripley (texte)
Marion Ripley is a former librarian at Linden Lodge School in London, where she founded the ClearVision Project, a lending library of tactile fabric books.
“I studied French at the University of Durham and lived in France for two years before returning to London. Most of my professional life has been dedicated to braille production and learning. For over twenty years, I ran the ClearVision braille library for children, where I came to understand the importance of tactile resources for children who learn through touch. During that time, I designed and created various tactile books, while also encouraging others to do the same. I retired in 2013.
Today, my life revolves around gardening, singing, playing with my grandchildren, and making the most of everything London has to offer. I also spend an outrageous amount of time getting angry about politics and politicians…
Winning the Typhlo & Tactus Award in 2022 was a tremendous joy for me, and I will always feel very proud when I think of it.”
